Some of the horticultural regions in the Netherlands are not equipped to meet the requirements of future-oriented horticulture. For example, modernising until 2030 means the greenhouse horticulture sector has to upgrade 300 hectares annually. For open crops, this means making production areas climate proof.
Our approach is innovative. Land owners are emphatically ‘in the lead’. That includes businesses as well as residents. The land owners are working together. Together with the various authorities, we will arrive at a supported, realistic and feasible plan. We are working with a coalition of ambitious people to bring about change. Our role is not limited to horticultural production regions. We were co-initiators of the first Greenport and are closely involved with Greenports Nederland. The same applies to the development of agricultural sites and the development of knowledge clusters.
